the paper doll project

3rd February - 8th February
(if you're new, I've pledged to wear only clothes handmade by me this year and to sketch my daily outfits in my Fashionary.  I'm calling this the paper doll project)

A thought:
would it be helpful for me to list the garments with links to the construction posts and real life photos?

  1. Oh, how fun. It would be lovely to have the links, but it seems like it would be too much work for you to keep up.

However, I love the weather reports! Can you add sunny, cloudy or partly cloudy? Rainy or dry? Windy or still?

  2. I love these sketches! Links would be nice, but I agree it would be a lot of work. Is there any way to add a search bar to your blog, so that interested people can just search by pattern name etc?

  3. Hehe... its Perth- so generally just imagine blue sky and a bit of a breeze! Though further into the year it might change a little.

I love this project. Its a great way to keep track o feverything and really interesting to see how you put everything together.

  4. I look forward to these posts every five days. Like badmomgoodmon, I'm really enjoying the temperatures. It must feel positively cold if it dips below 25 degrees!
Links to the construction posts would be great, but I agree I think it would be lots of work for you. If you can find a search bar which works, that might work better? Although I guess there will be a few you've not reviewed like many of us, then the search will fall flat...

  5. I love your paper doll project, it's a great way to see all you've made and how things work together. I agree with the others, links would be neat but it's more work.

Oh those amazingly warm temperatures! Here in Ottawa, we have the "-" (minus) in front of exactly those numbers!! EEEK!

  6. Your posts are giving an insight of our summer to come (well almost not that hot) getting fed up with the cold weather now.

  7. Carolyn, I love looking at your paper doll project. I look and try to guess the projects that I have seen on you blog! I also love how you draw so beautifully. I actuall bought myself a fashionary after seeing it on your blog a while ago, but have not had the courage to use it yet! Keep up the inspiration

  8. Links would be great but agree with the others, it might be hard to keep up with your project that way.

  9. My brain has gone into 'data analysis' mode and thought: she should do a year-end tally for each piece to count how many times she wore it... I'd love to hear that it was your TNT patterns with the highest count. That's my hypothesis / wishful thinking anyhow.

  10. Agree with Jessica, just a search so we can search on pattern name. If it already exists sorry for being vague. I love that pink on the first doll.

  11. As a regular reader of your blog, I can recognise most of the clothes you show in your Fashionary, so probably know the post to find it, but it might not be the case for everyone.Someone may see something you've made and want to know more, then a link would be extremely helpful. However, I agree it might be much more work than you would, or could invest. Perhaps just a permanent note at the end of the Fashionary posts saying something on the lines that 'if you're interested, please ask for further details'. I love waiting to see what you've done next, please don't stop - ever!

  13. Love your paper doll project, a brilliant idea. I would do it too, if I had time to sew, and could sketch... :-) I'm in Sweden, an we have the same temperatures here, just at the opposite end of the thermometer...
