Brighty tighty

Me-Made March, Day 30
I'm not 100% feeling this outfit.  Both the top and the skirt are getting old and have been kicking around in my wardrobe for a few years... both were part of my earlier plan to inject some colour into my life when I first started this blog.  I'm not sure how that's panned out for me.  I feel a little conspicuous whenever I wear bright colours, so maybe they are not for me after all.  And combining two really bright vigorous colours like in this outfit is really pushing my comfort barrier...!
Actually, I'd forgotten how much I liked this skirt with its sharp kick pleats.  They lend such an old-fashioned ladylike air to an skirt, no?  Maybe I should bring it back into regular rotation.
And although I've enjoyed this month-long me-made challenge .... just one day to go!  (squeee!)  My camera will be glad of a break!

Details:
Top; Butterick 4985, orange polkadot print cotton, refashioned from a costume skirt here
Skirt Vogue 1023 shortened, some turquoise synthetic stuff, details here

I like the colors of this outfit. That polka dot top is gorgeous on you. Do you like it better with white pants? I bet that would look amazing.

The skirt is also nice and would also look great with a crisp white top. :)

Nice shoes. I like how your toes go all the way to the end. I have problems, in that regard. ;)

I think you look great! But of course, you have to feel comfortable yourself. I love bright orange.

I love the colour combo. But I'm a sucker for anything orange. The lines of the skirt are great too.

I love the bright colors - and I think you can pull off the look. :)

Great outfit. The colour combination is very striking and the colours complement each other extremely well.

i think you look great in the brighter colors. You're probably just not used to wearing them.

I love this outfit! It's so cheery! Of course, I'm a sucker for bright happy colors. And I'm craving them badly, since a very cold spring thus far means I haven't been able to wear many of my brighter spring clothes at all yet.

You look wonderful in this outfit. I do understand your shyness regarding colour. Love my neutrals, but every so often something pushes me to buy a bright colour - then I'm not so sure that it works on me.

What a happy colour combo! I know that you're more comfortable in neutrals, but you're totally rocking this look. Maybe pair the top with white pants or a white skirt? The skirt would look delicious with your grey/silver top, too.

Fun!

Oh, it's the butterick pattern again! I really like this version. Color can be challenging for me too. I've enjoyed your outfits all month. But yes, I remember last September it was quite a challenge ....

I love both items...separately. I would wear that blouse with a grey skirt in a heartbeat. And the skirt I would wear with a crisp white blouse...and just the right jewelry.

I do like this outfit. Both pieces, together. But like you, my personality demands a little less vibrance. I'd suggest using them with other garments or adding a 3rd piece that would largely cover them up. Given your creative nature, you might also try discharge or a colour change method. But it is wonderful just like it shown.

This is currently my favorite color combination. I just bought some tangerine and turquoise Fiesta mugs!

I wouldn't lose the blouse just yet. It is lovely. I'm with you about bright colours. Conceptually I wan't to wear more colour, but revert to neutrals or tone down the colour with black.
