This is a beanie/scarf thingy I knitted for my daughter Cassie several years ago. Knitted from a variety of different yarns, to my own design.
I think I made the pom-pom first, in order to ensure I had enough yarn to do this, and also wound off enough yarn for the tassels on the ends of the scarves at the start of the project. Then the beanie was knitted from the crown down to the rim, cast off except for the stitches at the sides where the scarf sections were to start, then the scarves knitted down to the ends. This meant I could just knit away happily until all the yarns were used up completely; ta-dah! zero waste!

I have no idea what those knitting terms mean but the results are fabulous. I love all the texture, it makes me want to feel it. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous hat/scarf. You do such wonderful work. Your daughter is so very pretty, like her mama.

Oh, I like it. Your daughter is very beautiful!! I've never knit a hat from the top down, though I really like the zero waste idea ...
ReplyDeleteI wish I still had some of the hats and scarves that my relatives knitted me when I was a child. I'd probably still wear most of them (assuming they fit my head!)
ReplyDeleteShe is very pretty...she looks so much like you.
ReplyDeleteLove the hat and scarf.
She looks just you! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you used. I can't knit... maybe I'll learn someday.
