I suppose if I'm to hope for anything at all for 2010, it is for a calm, restful and peaceful year, and that is reflected in my dress today; calm, restful and peaceful colours, but with sparkly shoes for a tiny bit of pizazz... I made my necklace during my beading fad a few years ago. I've worn it only periodically as its kind of showy for my tastes... but I like how its mass of pearl beads are kind of like bubbles in a glass of champagne, sort of celebratory, which seems appropriate for New Year's Day.
Today the boys of my family are going sailing together and I will walk on the beach, afterwards we are visiting friends for a BBQ.

I am curious about the fabric: anglaise cheesecloth. Is this the type of cheesecloth that is used for straining food?

I just came across your blog via Wardrobe Refashion, and I love it! A classic sense of style that I aspire to, but since I have three children under 7 and one doesn't sleep through the night yet, I end up with more of the 'I'm lucky if I found a clean shirt to wear with my jeans' look. Heh.
ReplyDeleteGolden star; yes it is the same fabric used for straining cheese!!! However, being of the embroidered variety I guess its been prettied up for the dressmaking crowd... the cheese bits would get stuck in the embroidery...yuck
ReplyDeleteWe must have similar taste - it is exactly like something I'd make for myself.
